At Rescue Village, we believe that any individual who is willing to provide a loving, caring home for a pet should be able to do so, regardless of age. However, many elderly pet owners worry about what may happen to their pet after they pass away—and sometimes this fear ultimately prevents them from having a pet. Rescue Village aims helps to eliminate this fear through our Your Legacy, Their Lives program.

Through the program, individuals can entrust the care of their pet to Rescue Village after they become incapacitated or pass away. To become a program participant you must make a planned gift of at least $10,000 to Rescue Village (either in your trust or will or at the time of enrollment).

The process is simple: Rescue Village will work with you to complete the necessary paperwork to educate our team about your pet(s)—their medical history, unique needs, personality, and so on. When you pass away, or if you should become incapacitated, up to four of your pet(s) can be brought to Rescue Village to be placed in a new, loving home, through our regular adoption process, without any wait.
