Leave Your Legacy with Rescue Village

Marilyn and Robert’s home has always been a place where furry rescue friends find a home. As they got older, they became concerned that they didn’t have a plan for their estate, or their cats should the worst happen. While estate planning isn’t something anyone wants to do, Marilyn and Robert just wanted to get it done, and felt empowered when they created their estate – they knew that their wish to help homeless animals through their estate would be honored.

Legacy Society members Marilyn and Robert with their cat Cashmere.

“Since being a volunteer at Rescue Village for more than 15 years, I know the honesty and integrity of Rescue Village, and trust that my cats will be well cared for,” said Marilyn. “I want my legacy to help feed and care for animals.”

Like Marilyn and Robert, we all think of our pets as adored family members. They are great cuddlers, the best listeners, and don’t complain much during workouts. Our animals make our lives so much richer.

Creating an estate plan is a compassionate act of caring for yourself, your loved ones, and the animals that make your life so very special. By creating a will, you can permanently provide for your loved ones, plan for your pet’s future, and support Rescue Village through its Legacy Society.

Rescue Village partners with FreeWill to offer our community this free online estate planning resource. FreeWill’s platform has already helped 700,000+ individuals create their will — it’s secure, easy to use, and 100% free of charge.

“I’m so happy we did this,” said Robert. “We felt that our hard-earned estate funds would better suit animals in need at Rescue Village, and that means the world to us.”

Visit www.freewill.com/rescuevillage to start your estate planning today.

If you would prefer to finalize your wishes with an attorney, you can use FreeWill to create a list of documented wishes to give yourself a head start and save time and money at the lawyer’s office.

Rescue Village provides shelter, expert medical care, and loving enrichment to over 2,000 animals every year. We are seeing an increase in complex medical cases of homeless animals and Rescue Village won’t give up on these animals in need thanks to supporters like you.

With medical supplies and testing being more expensive than ever, your annual support means that we can afford to continue our life-saving work. And a gift from your estate helps ensure that Rescue Village will be secure in this effort far into the future.

Marilyn and Robert have been supporting Rescue Village for years, responding to gift appeals and urgent support campaigns.  Like you, they truly believe in Rescue Village’s mission to provide shelter, medical care, and loving homes for homeless animals.  They took the next step in helping make sure Rescue Village is always here to provide crucial resources for homeless animals.
