Help Save Animals’ Lives from the Comfort of Your Home or Barn

While all of our volunteers are critical to our mission, our foster families perform an essential service to Rescue Village. Foster homes help us save more lives by providing in home care for dogs, cats, puppies and kittens that need to heal, mature, or require more socialization prior to adoption. This frees up more cage space in the shelter, allowing us to in turn help even more animals in need.

The timeframe for fostering an animal can range from a few weeks to a few months. We work with you to determine the best foster situation for you and your family. If you are interested in fostering an animal, you can contact our team for more information or complete an application. Our Human & Animal Services Manager can be reached at 440.338.4819 ext. 14 or by e-mail.

Fostering Adult Dogs

Foster families are occasionally needed for adult dogs. In some cases, these dogs are recuperating from medical treatments or surgery; in other cases, the dogs are physically healthy but are very shy and need some socialization. Others may have simply been in our shelter for so long that they need a well-deserved break in a temporary foster home. We’ve compiled some FAQs about fostering an adult dog and invite you to contact our Human & Animal Services Manager at 440.338.4819 ext. 14 or by email at kzlangford@rescuevillage.org for more information.
