2025 Rescue Village Impact Report
Rescue Village’s 2025 community impact reflects the collective work of staff, volunteers, adopters, and supporters across Northeast Ohio. These numbers represent the scale of lifesaving care, medical treatment, adoption services, and community outreach provided through our shelter and programs.
Animals Helped
In 2025, Rescue Village provided lifesaving care to 3,379 animals in need.
During the year:
- 2,137 animals lived in the shelter
- 2,054 barrier-free, same-day adoptions placed animals into new homes
- The average length of stay was 14–15 days
Our barrier-free adoption model allows many animals to move directly from shelter care into permanent homes the same day they are adopted.
Veterinary Care and Medical Services
Rescue Village’s veterinary clinic plays a central role in animal welfare across the region.
In 2025 our clinic provided:
- 2,539 surgeries performed
- 3,243 vaccines administered
- 4,077 physical exams
- 1,208 in-house heartworm and fecal tests
These services support both animals in our shelter and animals in the broader community.
Community Programs and Outreach
Rescue Village’s mission extends beyond sheltering animals. Through education, outreach, and community partnerships, we serve thousands of people every year.
In 2025:
- 54,874 people were served through shelter visits, outreach programs, and humane education
- 47,086 pounds of pet food were distributed through the Pet Food Pantry since 2021
- 893 TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) surgeries were performed to help manage community cat populations
Adoption and Foster Impact
Adoption and foster programs remain the core of our lifesaving work.
Since 2021:
- 9,161 animals have been adopted
In 2025:
- 624 animals were fostered in temporary homes
- 33 transfer partners worked with Rescue Village to expand lifesaving capacity
- 421 volunteers supported shelter operations, events, and community outreach
Live Release Rate
Rescue Village maintained a 98% live release rate, reflecting our commitment to lifesaving care, responsible placement, and strong partnerships across the region.

Every rescue represents a commitment, to the animal, to the adopter, and to the community. Rescue Village provides barrier-free adoption services, medical care, humane education, and animal protection programs to ensure animals receive the care they deserve.
