A Legacy of Compassion for Future Generations
Every summer, Rescue Village hosts a special summer camp for kids to learn everything there is to know about the humane society. Through games, animal cuddles, and learning sessions led by key staff members of Rescue Village, kids become “scholars of the humane society” and earn a Humane Heart Certificate.
These young campers leave with more than just fun memories — they leave with a true understanding of how the humane society provides a critical service to the community, along with newfound respect and compassion for homeless animals. Rescue Village continues to inspire and educate the next generation of animal advocates thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters.
By partnering with FreeWill, Rescue Village has made it easy for donors and supporters to provide future generations of campers with a legacy of compassion. Having a will is important to help care for loved ones, but by including Rescue Village in your will, future generations are guaranteed to benefit. Others will benefit too, like Madison, a senior at Gilmour Academy, who conducted her Senior Project at Rescue Village. She is looking to become a veterinarian, and contacted Rescue Village — her first choice for her two week internship.
Additionally, three times a week during the school year, Rescue Village hosts vocational students from the Educational Services Consortium of the Western Reserve. These students come to Rescue Village to help process donations of food, toys, and bedding, do laundry, clean empty cages or kennels, and wash the dishes, among many other tasks. They learn valuable skills in a safe and supportive environment, so that when they graduate they can use Rescue Village as a reference for a job.
Rescue Village has partnered with FreeWill because their intuitive online tool guides the user through the will-writing process in as little as 20 minutes, with no fee! While making a plan, there is an option to include a gift to Rescue Village in the will, or designate Rescue Village as a beneficiary — so that donors and supporters of Rescue Village can make a generational impact that supports our summer camps, and other youth programming, for years to come, and be honored as a Legacy Society member.
