About Douglas

Douglas is a young rooster who came from Cleveland City Kennels. He was found on the side of a highway with another rooster and a hen. Douglas is a cornish-cross rooster who needs a home where he can live out his life no matter how short or long it may be: He has been bred to grow at an extremely fast rate so that he could be butchered at a young age, so his body can't always handle the weight into adulthood. Even at Rescue Village on a restricted diet and access to fresh air and exercise, his lifespan can not be guaranteed due to the higher risk of heart conditions or physical lameness due to his size.
