Rescue Village once again participated in NBC’s Clear the Shelters campaign that ran through the month of August, to help shelter pets find a family. The campaign was a great success with 184 animals adopted! As part of the campaign, Rescue Village waived adoption fees on August 1st and August 31st on all adult pets.
NBCUniversal Local teams up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear The Shelters every August, a nationwide pet adoption and donation campaign that helps find loving homes for animals in need. More than 1 million pets have found their forever homes since 2015.
Reporter Mike Polk of WKYC CH 3 News came to Rescue Village to showcase some adoptable pets that have been at the shelter far too long. Cindy and Edward shared the spotlight and both have been waiting for a home for over 2 months.
Delilah, a petite and gentle pit mix, also got her 15 minutes of “regal” fame on WKYC with reporter Monica Robins:
While Delilah didn’t find her home during the campaign, she was adopted shortly after in September! The Clear the Shelters campaign is important to help raise awareness for homeless animals waiting in shelters across the nation and to inspire people to adopt.
