2001: The new, state-of-the-art shelter opened in Novelty, Ohio and the name Rescue Village was born In 2001, Rescue Village’s new state-of-the-art shelter is opened in Novelty, Ohio. It is during this time Rescue Village’s name changed from The Geauga Humane Society.
2000: Rescue Village’s Walk for Animal’s name is changed to Woofstock In 2000, Rescue Village’s Walk for Animal’s change the name to Woofstock. Woofstock is RV’s annual dog festival and fundraiser. In 2023, Rescue Village hosted the 30th anniversary Woofstock with over 8,000 attendees.
