How does it work?
Who can participate in this program? TNR is for anyone who has identified an un-owned, outdoor, free-roaming cat that needs to be spayed or neutered. This program is not for owned cats or stray cats that are being kept as pets. You do not need to live in Geauga County to participate in the program.
What is the co-pay and what is included? The co-pay is $25 per cat. This includes the spay or neuter surgery, a 1-year Rabies vaccination, an FVRCP vaccination, and the left ear tip. Additionally, we offer an application of flea and tick prevention at an additional $5 per cat upon request.
The first step is to complete and submit an application. Once that is received we will be in touch when we are able to get you added to a surgery day. This program is offered once a week on a tentative appointment basis. We will guide you on how to prepare for and trap for a scheduled date and time once we receive your application and schedule a surgery appointment.
Our TNR program is unable to provide additional veterinary services outside of spay/neuter and Rabies and FVRCP vaccination.
TRAP RENTAL PROGRAM
We offer trap rentals to safely and humanely trap community cats for our TNR program. To rent a trap there is a security deposit that is fully refundable once the trap is returned on time and in good working condition. Trap rental deposits vary per type of trap being loaned. We will provide you with information on how to safely trap community cats and provide additional advice and support as needed on caring for community cats. Trap rentals take place by appointment and will be set up with you at the time you are called after submitting a TNR application.
